Perkins EST 2024A Overview, Compatibility, and Best Adapters
What is Perkins EST 2024A?
Perkins EST (Electronic Service Tool) 2024A is official dealer-level diagnostic software used for troubleshooting, programming, and calibrating Perkins electronic engines. It is similar to Caterpillar ET but specifically designed for Perkins engines, allowing access to ECMs (Electronic Control Modules) to read fault codes, adjust parameters, and perform software updates.
Since Perkins is a subsidiary of Caterpillar, EST also shares some compatibility with CAT engines that use Perkins-derived platforms.
What Can Perkins EST 2024A Do?
- Read & Clear Fault Codes
- Diagnose active and stored fault codes.
- Live Data Monitoring
- View real-time engine parameters (RPM, fuel pressure, temperature, etc.).
- ECM Programming & Calibration
- Update ECM software, modify idle speed, fuel settings, etc.
- Injector Coding & Fuel System Diagnostics
- Perform injector trim adjustments and cylinder tests.
- DPF & Emissions System Service
- Conduct forced DPF regeneration, reset SCR and EGR parameters.
- Engine Protection & Derate Adjustments
- Modify safety shutdown settings (temperature, oil pressure).
- Hydraulic & Powertrain Diagnostics
- For Perkins-powered construction and industrial equipment.
- Factory Password Unlock
- Used to access restricted parameters and advanced tuning.
