Description

This is a bypass breakout cable used to connect to Detroit DDEC IV engines.

This bypass cable is used on the Detroit Diesel engines with a DDEC IV ECM connection. This bypass harness is used to connect directly to the ECM instead of going through the vehicle dash connector. DDEC IV ECMs are used primarily on Detroit Series 60 from 2001 to 2006.

Note: This cable also requires our Main Bypass Programming Cable to connect to the ECM. Our unique design allows you to purchase this main cable first, then purchase the "ends" that you need to connect to various ECMs.

Why would you need an ECM breakout harness?
  • Most OEMs recommend NOT programming the vehicle through the dash connector, but instead go directly to the ECM. These are the perfect programming cables for such a project.
  • You are having issues with the diagnostic port on your commercial truck, and wish to bypass the vehicle wiring and go directly to the ECM.
  • You have an ECM that is not installed on the truck and wish to do programming or modifications on the workbench.
